It’s now been 4 months since we moved to Valencia. As we did when we moved to London, my mum and I went to Valencia first to research a flat. In this case, it was a little more complicated than London and we thought we were not going to find a flat on time!!
We arrived in Valencia on Monday 6th of August and we started looking for a flat. Nicolas and my dad stayed in France and were supposed to come the next day with the van full of furniture and with the cat! We had to bring the van back near Murcia (2 to 3 hours from Valencia) on the Wednesday afternoon.
It was completely crazy to find a flat in 2 days but we did it!!! We found a flat that we liked, and above all we found a tenant who accepted to rent us the flat! (I only had a job offer in English, no contract yet and Nicolas is a freelance, so not much there). The deal was accepted on the Tuesday afternoon, but we could not move until the Wednesday. We had to find a hotel which had a secure parking + accepted cats, not an easy task!!! We did find one and in the end it was all fine! The whole moving day was full of comic situations that we might share in a later post; it would be too long to describe everything here!
After a few days and a big help from my parents, our flat was looking good! Most of our furniture is the same that we had in London, but we still bought a few things such as picture frames, book shelves and our favorite leather recliner (those are great here http://www.clubfurniture.com/leather-recliners.html). We have three bedrooms, a big living-room and a big kitchen. Our bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and we have another bathroom for guests. It’s a big and nice flat! The only thing is quite often it is quite noisy. It is a problem we’ve had in every one of our flats in London. We can hear the neighbours and we can hear the road. This is hopefully a temporary situation, and we will try to buy our own house as soon as we’re allowed to have a mortgage here! Enough with the talking, you will see below a few pictures from the flat.
This is our bedroom which is very big and we can fit two chests of drawers and we have two built-in wardrobes (we I have lots of clothes…). Our little Bones decided to climb on the bed just in time for the picture!
A little zoom on the little things on our chest of drawers (mainly souvenirs from our trips to the US).
This is the living-room. It is also a big room!
You can see some of the souvenirs we brought back from Egypt on this picture.
