A day in Barcelona
Yesterday, to celebrate Valentines Day (and for other reasons), we spent the day in Barcelona. It’s 3 hours away from Valencia so it’s quite far but we wanted to go! We left at around 8 in the morning and came back at 8:30 in the evening, a big day!
I drove on the way there and we first saw some cities on the coast before Barcelona to discover the Catalan coast. It was raining when we got there so we had a look around in the car. We arrived in Barcelona around 12:15 and we saw different things in the car like the bull ring or the Plaza de España which were impressive! We parked near the port and went to have a walk in Las Ramblas.
We ate quickly to avoid wasting time and we carried on walking around. We visited the market, La Boqueria as well as the Plaza de Catalunya and the Plaza Sant Jaume. We also walked nearby the gothic cathedral (not the Sagrada Familia).
Before leaving the town, we had a look at the Camp Nou and in Barça’s shop. On the way back, Niko drove and we went to Castelldefels to see an old colleague of mine (and her daughter) who was working with me in London and is now working there. It was really nice to see her again and the four of us walked around the town.
After that, we headed back to Valencia and we got there around 8:30 in the evening. It was a great day even if the weather was not great and it was a bit far. We only went for the day because we have Bones at home and we have nobody to come and feed her. In addition, I had work to do for school that I could not not do.
What about you? What did you do at the weekend?
